At the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Microsoft announced a special edition to mark the brand's 25th anniversary: the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, paired with the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition.

A design that looks back

The console gets a translucent shell inspired by the original Xbox, in an OG green tone that calls straight back to 2001. The controller follows the same theme, mixing the classic ABXY button colors and the brand's signature green with bumpers that nod to the original "Duke" controller's design.

Limited availability

Microsoft has confirmed the console and controller will be sold together as a limited-edition bundle in select markets starting in November, with the controller also available separately. Given the limited run, units are likely to sell out quickly among collectors and longtime fans of the brand.
