id Software and Bethesda have released Revelations, the first major expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages, available since July 7, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

A campaign nearly as big as the base game

Revelations packs a 10-to-12-hour single-player campaign, with six levels built around a central hub called Purgatory, following a metroidvania-style structure where players backtrack through areas to solve puzzles and uncover secrets. Among the new additions is the Chain Spear, a weapon that doubles as a grappling hook for traversal, pulling in enemies, or making quick evasive moves.

Pricing and endgame content

Owners of the base game can buy the expansion separately for $19.99, or get it through the Premium Edition for $34.99. Revelations also adds "Purgatorium 3.0" mode, with new maps, new demons, and upgraded weapons aimed at players who've already finished the main campaign and want more of a challenge.
