The Corsair K70 PRO TKL RGB is Corsair's pitch to players who want to squeeze out every last millisecond of competitive edge, and at 4.9 stars it's the highest-rated keyboard we've reviewed.
Magnetic switches: the technology that makes the difference
Unlike traditional mechanical switches, this keyboard's MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches use Hall Effect sensors to detect a key's exact position, not just whether it's pressed or not. That lets you adjust the actuation point key by key and enable Rapid Trigger, a feature that resets the keypress the moment it detects you releasing the key, without waiting for it to fully return to its resting position. In practice, that translates into faster, more precise movements in competitive shooters.
8,000 Hz polling: does it actually make a difference?
The keyboard polls key state up to 8,000 times per second, far above the 1,000 Hz standard. For most players the difference is hard to consciously perceive, but at the margins of a competitive tournament, every millisecond counts.
The only real downside is price: at nearly €180, it's the most expensive option in our keyboard comparison, and with only 61 reviews at the time of this review, it doesn't yet have the volume of more established options. Even so, for anyone looking for the latest in gaming keyboard technology without worrying about the price, it's hard to find something better rated right now.
