Nintendo has released Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, available digitally since July 30, 2026, with a physical release planned for October 1.

A meaningful technical upgrade

The Switch 2 edition adds support for 4K resolution and up to 60 frames per second, a substantial jump over the original 2017 release on the first Switch. Nintendo has also confirmed extra content, including new outfits for Pyra and Mythra and the addition of Momo, a character crossing over from Xenosaga.

An entry point for newcomers too

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of the most beloved JRPGs in Nintendo's catalog, and this re-release aims both to give returning players a reason to jump back in and to serve as an entry point for anyone who picked up the Xenoblade series later, Switch 2 in hand and ready to explore Alrest from scratch.
